Section Five: Strategies of swordsmanship and Victor Harris’ lineage of Ono Ha Itto Ryu

This ground breaking section seeks to go beyond the traditional, and to introduce a frequency analysis (data mine) of some of the strategies to be found within the kata, and to look at how the school addresses certain challenges that have faced every swordsman throughout the ages in different localities, to enable those with an interest in comparative swordsmanship to assess how this school meets some of their common challenges. This section is intentionally kept short to be an illustration of what may be done and to open the reader up to the possibilities which exist in this area.
